Sixty six-movie trailer analysis
Overall I think that the sixtysix trailer is very effective, it's funny, engages the audience and is relateable.
The first thing that the audience sees is the universal pictures sign, this is something the audience can pick up on, so if they have seen a film by universal before then they will be able to relate to it is also good branding for universal.
The second scene is of a boy around 12 waiting to be picked in p.e and getting picked last, this will be very relateable for some members of the audience who could've had similar experiences. The main shot used in this scene is a medium so we can see the boys bodies.
The third scene is of Bernie being forgotten, the voiceover tells most of the story whilst the characters just say a minimal amount. By this time in the trailer you are getting a picture of what the main character bernie is like and what his life is like.
The next few scenes are building up to the main plot, again the voiveover does most of the talking whilst you just get titbits from the characters. The narrator is setting the story and is talking about Bernie's bahmitsva(can't spell it) and how it is going to be the best, which lets the audience know what the film is going to be based around.
In the next few scenes the audience watch as Bernie learns that his bahmitsva is going to be on the same day of the world cup final. As Britain reach the final Bernie doesnt think that anyone will com to his party, whilst his mum tries to persuade him otherwise they get lots of phonecalls from family members and friends saying that they can't make it. Lots of panning in and out is used.
The scene changes and "From the makers of Billy Elliot" "And about a boy" come on the screnn this is clever branding as it makes anyone who has seen either film think that this film is going to be just as good.
The next few scenes show Bernie trying to be positive and make his party succesful. A lot of narration is used and so are quite a few closeup shots.
It then shows people being happy and right near the end of the trailer Bernie's voice comes on and he says "Thas the thing about being jewish, you haven't got a foreskin so you have to have really big balls to make up for it." This quote is funny and quite evidently defines the genre of the film.
Overall I think that this trailer is very effective as the makers have made sure that it realtes to everyone and not juset a jewish audience.

Kick-Ass short review..unfinished
In a way, it's almost a shame that Kick-Ass has so much in the way of violence and swearing in it - because as far as superhero movies go-, it's pretty difficult to beat. Its lead character isn't somebody with superpowers, or money and martial arts training, just an ordinary teenage comic book geek, who wonders one day why "everybody wants to be Paris Hilton, but nobody wants to be Spider-Man".
Make no mistake, Kick-Ass is awesome. It is witty and honours the superhero genre; but at the same time, it's a fun example of it.
On the action front, it is brilliant - Dave's early days as a superhero feel brutal and real. And some of the action sequences are brilliant.
The film provides us with a real star; it's in the foul-mouthed, samurai sword-holding, hurricane known as Hit Girl, a character and performance that will make Chloe Moretz a huge star.
Dave’s main quest is to be noticed, and not for being a geek, he also wants to get the girl. And in the end he does.

Tv advert analysis
This is an advert for lynx excite:
The advert shows the people of a pretty European town going about their daily business, when suddenly beautiful angles begin to fall from the sky, and search for the man that has been using new Lynx Excite. The ad breaks to the man spraying Lynx Exicte onto himself in his bedroom.
Lynx is designed for men hence the use of falling angels in tight dressess. The makers of the advert have made it interesting through thier choice of music (Sexy boy by the fallen angels) and thier storyline. They have made it more like an extremly short, extremely wierd fairy tale than an advert. They have also been clever by using angels with every skin tone, hence appealing to everyone. They have also tied this in with what they are wearing, every angel is wearing a dress coloured to match thier skin tone.
The setting of the advert also gives it a fairytale feel because it is a very pretty picturesque village somewhere unknown. The adverts message is that any man, whether he be fat, thin, rich or poor could get a beautiful woman by wearing lynx as the second part of the advert shows. All the fallen women start walking towards a man standing with his moped, the man is totally unawares (as if to say he doesnt even realise how good lynx is) Everyone assumes angels to be innocent so that is why it was so effective when the angels smashed thier halos on the ground as if to say lynks is so good it can make angels fall for you.
The last scene is the man in his room with no top on spraying lynx onto himself, as he is spraying you hear a bang on the roof and a feather falls down. The lynx spray comes onto the screen and a voiceover says "New lynx excite..even angels will fall." Which reinforces my point about the advert suggesting that the product is good enough to attract angels.
Overall I think this is a very successful advert that succeeds in interseting the viewer and appealing to its target audience.

Homework: Analyse print ad
This is a print advert for lynx. I chose lynx because I wanted to comment on the fact that in almost every print ad for them I looked at there was a semi nude woman on the front. I chose this particular ad because I thought it was a prime example of sexual explotation to sell a product. The advert has no real slogan or catchy words, it relies on the fact that there is a half naked woman standing under a shower with wash me written on her belly. In this particular lynx advert they are advertising thier new body wash for men. One reason they used the woman is that sex sells. The other is that it will grab your attention as your walking past as they have made the woman so big. I think that the main reason for this advert is to make you remember it and make you talk about it. It is not about how good the product is because the actual product is a tiny picture at the bottom, underneath the bottle of body was it says: "links shower gel...get dirty" This just palys on the fact that they have used a half naked woman in the shower and it is very suggestive. It is as if they are almost trying to imply that if you was with thier product you will find a half naked woman in your shower. The typography is simple as if not to take away from the picture, it is in white. The actual gel is blue and they have tied the backgorund in with this ny making the background blue brick. Overall I think the advert would attract thier probable target audience of 16-60 year old males. I do however think its a shame that they could not think of a more creative and imaginative way to advertise effectively rather than going for the obvious.

The advert that I personally dont think works is the Evian advert with the rollerskating babies, I dont think it works because babies have nothing to do with water and they cant rollerskate so it is ridiculous if not a bit creepy. I understand they were trying to say that evian can make you do anything but I think they could of shown this in many other more effective ways. Out of the ten people I asked eight of them thought this advert didnt work and wouldnt make them want to buy evian and seven of them found the cocept creepy. Overall I personally do not think that this advert works.
