Tv advert analysis
This is an advert for lynx excite:
The advert shows the people of a pretty European town going about their daily business, when suddenly beautiful angles begin to fall from the sky, and search for the man that has been using new Lynx Excite. The ad breaks to the man spraying Lynx Exicte onto himself in his bedroom.
Lynx is designed for men hence the use of falling angels in tight dressess. The makers of the advert have made it interesting through thier choice of music (Sexy boy by the fallen angels) and thier storyline. They have made it more like an extremly short, extremely wierd fairy tale than an advert. They have also been clever by using angels with every skin tone, hence appealing to everyone. They have also tied this in with what they are wearing, every angel is wearing a dress coloured to match thier skin tone.
The setting of the advert also gives it a fairytale feel because it is a very pretty picturesque village somewhere unknown. The adverts message is that any man, whether he be fat, thin, rich or poor could get a beautiful woman by wearing lynx as the second part of the advert shows. All the fallen women start walking towards a man standing with his moped, the man is totally unawares (as if to say he doesnt even realise how good lynx is) Everyone assumes angels to be innocent so that is why it was so effective when the angels smashed thier halos on the ground as if to say lynks is so good it can make angels fall for you.
The last scene is the man in his room with no top on spraying lynx onto himself, as he is spraying you hear a bang on the roof and a feather falls down. The lynx spray comes onto the screen and a voiceover says "New lynx excite..even angels will fall." Which reinforces my point about the advert suggesting that the product is good enough to attract angels.
Overall I think this is a very successful advert that succeeds in interseting the viewer and appealing to its target audience.
