Denotation: Closeup, in colour apart from skin, pink background and skirt.
Analysis: I like the style of this picture and as it is anime it will suit the style of my magazine. Also deathnote is a popular Japanese so someone that likes deathnote would pick up my magazine because of the picture on the front.
Denotation: An extreme closeup, woman, black and white, red background.
Analysis: I would use a similar picture because I like the style of drawing this is and I like that it is in black and white but the has a red background to make it stand out. It would also suit the type of magazine I am doing because it is a kind of Japanese style.
I can see you are preparing well for the focus on audience but please remember to keep this objective and not comment on your own feelings.
